“We believe in the transformative gift of education. KSEF exists to provide bursaries for talented students and to support vital outreach programs in partnership with local schools.”
Our History
The Knightsbridge School Education Foundation (KSEF) was founded in 2007 by Magoo Giles, who believed that the school should give back to the local community by supporting children less fortunate than their own. With this vision, KSEF began by focusing on helping local state schools, providing much-needed funding for books, laptops, and essential resources. Over time, the Foundation’s mission evolved to include bursaries for talented students entering Years 7 and 8, enabling them to experience the exceptional opportunities at Knightsbridge School.
In the early years, KSEF operated with modest budgets, but the generosity of Knightsbridge School families and donors allowed it to thrive. With the school matching bursary funding pound for pound, KSEF was able to offer life-changing support to students, opening the doors to a brighter future.
Today, with Knightsbridge School extending to Year 11, bursary students have the option to stay through their GCSEs or transition to prestigious secondary schools, often with full scholarships. This financial support ensures students can continue their educational journey, often right through to A Levels at renowned institutions.
Beyond bursaries, KSEF actively supports the local community, working closely with Marlborough Primary and Ashburnham Community Primary Schools in Chelsea. Over the years, the Foundation has funded books to enhance literacy, laptops to bridge the digital divide, therapists to support mental well-being, and residential trips to foster confidence and growth. This community-focused approach ensures that KSEF’s impact extends far beyond the walls of Knightsbridge School.
Now led by Valentina Pan, and supported by the generosity of KS families, alumni, and Duke’s Education, KSEF has transformed countless lives. Together, this vibrant community continues to create opportunities and give talented students the chance to thrive.
